Alum stone is a rock crystal found naturally in Syria and Morocco, but also in Canada. The purest stones come from Syria.
However, be careful to differentiate between natural Alum stone and synthetic Alum stone. Natural Alum stone, extracted from alunite mines, has the name “potassium alum”, unlike synthetic Alum stone, made from ammonium salts, and which is called “Ammonium Alum” .
