What are the keys to a successful natural transition?

Going natural is a desire that is increasingly present in each of us... Currently, we are in demand for better quality products for our skin, our environment and our planet. For most of us, we have been accustomed to consuming our products blindly, relying on pretty packaging and beautiful promises. To think that an effective product necessarily contains a lot of ingredients and to go to the large distribution chains to buy our daily products.... When we talk about "product", we include all categories, from cosmetics, to care capillaries but also household.

And then, turning to natural is good for us but also for our most precious asset: our planet, which suffers so much from excessive consumption of harmful chemicals...

In this article, I suggest you zoom in on a transition to naturalness, the benefits and our tips for achieving it!

Natural, what is it?

If we start from a simple definition, the natural belongs to and comes from nature . The natural is not aware of the work of man and is therefore opposed to all that is artificial, synthetic or modified . This approach shows us one thing: naturalness therefore comes from raw products belonging to nature, allowing us to return to the essentials, to the sources .

And there are plenty of natural products! But, the first fears expressed by potential consumers are: inefficiency, price, "too simple"... And then there is this transition to natural which is not always easy. So let's get to the heart of the matter.

The transition to natural cosmetics! We were talking about a difficult transition and fears a little earlier...

But why is it difficult and what are the expected results ? In some cases, switching to healthier and more natural products can be accompanied by skin reactions: redness, pimples... This is called the " rebound effect ". This could upset and demotivate more than one in their approach, but the question to ask is: why does my skin react like this ? After spending years applying cosmetics full of conservatives synthetics, substances petrochemicals and other synthetic ingredients, our skin is used to receiving these kinds of products. They contain occlusive molecules and products that act superficially, thus hiding the real problems and slowing down the natural actions of the skin. This, we can say, has become addicted to these products and without them, nature takes back its rights. It will therefore manifest itself excessively when it is time to get out of the habit... But rest assured, if this transition is delicate, it only lasts for a while. Your skin will then accept, with happiness and pleasure, products that are finally healthy for it!

In addition, numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the dangerousness of several ingredients found in make-up and industrial creams: endocrine disruptors, plastic microbeads, nanoparticles… The list is long and the internet is full of information on this subject.

So when we are aware of this, why hesitate to go natural ?

Start gently with everyday products such as soap, deodorant... Wash your skin with a gentle cleansing gel, apply hydrosols pure and alcohol-free, promote vegetal oils (almond, jojoba, sesame...). Be patient, test and after a few weeks this natural transition will bear fruit!

If you prefer more "elaborate" products then be curious and read the labels carefully. Find out about the ingredients that are present, the origin of these products, the labels claimed by the brand... To find out how to decipher a list of ingredients, we invite you to read our article on this subject.

The simplest solution being, and you know that we advocate this practice, homemade cosmetics . You use the natural ingredients of your choice, know the exact composition and significantly reduce the amount of products on your skin.

So get started and your skin will undoubtedly thank you!

On the hair side, what natural routine to adopt?

So-called “ conventional ” or industrial hair products are very often also composed of chemical substances . The two main ones are:

They are highly appreciated by consumers because, in fact, their actions are convincing: sheathed hair, shiny appearance... But don't get me wrong, this action is only superficial . They actually fill in the gaps between your hair scales by clogging your hair cuticle. So even if at the moment T we are delighted with the result, these products damage your hair, slow down their growth and promote their long-term loss...

But just like the difficult transition to a more natural cosmetic routine, that of the hair can be just as difficult... This corresponds to the time it will take for your hair to detoxify and get used to the absence of silicone again. This detoxification and cure allows you to cleanse your hair of any chemical substance. And once rid of these, your hair will be able to breathe again!

We advise you to turn to a soft transition and to use shampoos and conditioners composed of natural and vegetable active ingredients and to offer them care with raw ingredients. The best are theGreen clay and the vegetal oils.

If you want to make your own hair products, we have recipes for shampoo and conditioner that respect your scalp, to help you go natural with a conscience!
